I love a meatball. These paleo sweet and sour meatballs have been a staple appetizer for me since I began entertaining. Growing up my mom’s friend Judy used to make these with grape jelly and chili sauce. We would scarf them down and always wished for more.
These are such an easy appetizer and can definitely be made ahead of time and kept warm until your guests arrive. Bonus, these can be made in a slow cooker in the morning and will be ready when your guests arrive.

Ingredients
- Ground beef
- Onion
- Garlic
- Salt
- Coconut aminos
- Honey
- Paleo ketchup
- Apple cider vinegar
- Orange juice

Let’s make these paleo sweet and sour meatballs
- Preheat oven o 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, add in the ground beef, onion, garlic, salt, and 1 teaspoon coconut aminos. Mix until well combined.
- Shape in to bite sized meatballs. Place on parchment lined baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
- While the meatballs bake, make the sauce by combining honey, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, orange juice, salt, and remaining coconut aminos. Stir together.
- Place the meatballs in an oven safe dish and cover with the sauce. Bake for another 10 minutes. Top with sliced green onions.
Appetizer parties have become a big thing recently. Having apps like these paleo sweet and sour meatballs, along with paleo bacon wrapped hot dogs and paleo millionaire bacon deviled eggs would be a party I would love to be at.
These meatballs can also be made in the slow cooker and simmered for 4 hours. Making them a very easy appetizer to make.
From my kitchen to yours!
