These paleo bacon wrapped hot dogs are a great little bite for any get together. I remember going to a friends house for her sons baptism party and her mom made bacon wrapped little sausages.
Jump to Recipe We all devoured them and of course I had to know where the recipe came from. Well, she hesitated to tell us, but finally she did. The recipe had come from a little recipe book at the checkout line in the grocery store. It certainly didn’t matter to us where the recipe came from, they were so good! For years we made these little sausages and they were always a hit at every party.
Fast forward years and years later. I would think about this appetizer all of the time. I knew that this recipe was one that I needed to recreate and make it paleo. Let me just day, these do not disappoint. I think these are the perfect appetizer to bring to any get together and will most likely be the first thing eaten!
Ingredients
- Mini hot dogs (make sure you find a brand that is paleo, I like to use the True Story brand).
- Paleo bacon (I like to use the Applegate brand. You can find this one in most grocery stores; make sure you look for the bacon that has no added sugar).
- Coconut sugar
- Cayenne pepper

How to make these Paleo bacon wrapped hot dogs
- Begin by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix together the coconut sugar and cayenne pepper.
- Cut the bacon in to thirds. Take a mini hot dog and wrap a piece of bacon around it and place seam side down on the parchment lined sheet pan. Wrap all of the hot dogs.
- Take the coconut sugar mixture and sprinkle over the top of the bacon wrapped hot dogs.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes and serve.
Make sure you check labels when you are buying bacon and hot dogs. They tend to be loaded with sugar and nitrites.
These paleo bacon wrapped hot dogs are so good that you may want to think about doubling or tripling this recipe if you are having a lot of guests over. They will fly off your platter. Trust me.
From my kitchen to yours!
