Paleo Bacon and Onion Quiche

Breakfast and a good brunch are something I love. This paleo bacon and onion quiche is great to serve for breakfast and brunch. Usually I will serve this with some sliced fruit for breakfast. A simple salad and this quiche make the best brunch menu.

What I love about quiche.

One thing I love about a quiche, is that you can add any type of ingredients that sounds good.

Meat options like Bacon, ham, and sausage are great. They will add a little saltiness to your egg mixture. You can do one or the other or mix them for a protein filled option.

What else can I add.

As for vegetables, onions, chives, peppers, spinach, or kale can be added. You can mix and match the meats and vegetables or make a vegetarian quiche. You can make this paleo bacon and onion quiche just like the recipe, or you can add in some vegetables. Change it up any way you like. The cook time for this quiche will be the same no matter what meat or vegetables you put in.

Ingredients

  • Paleo pie dough
  • Bacon
  • Eggs
  • Almond Milk
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Nutritional yeast
  • Onion
Paleo Pie Crust

Now, let’s make this quiche.

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a 9-inch pie pan with paleo pie crust. Cover pie crust with a piece of parchment paper and fill with pastry weights or dried beans. Bake crust for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and reduce the oven temperature to 375 degrees.
  • Combine eggs, almond milk, salt, and pepper. Add in the nutritional yeast and whisk together.
  • Pour in the egg mixture and place pie pan on a baking sheet (just make sure it does not overflow).
  • Add in the crumbled bacon and diced onion.
  • Bake the quiche for 40-45 minutes, until a knife comes out clean. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes before serving.

My paleo pie dough recipe is so good and perfect for this recipe. It makes two regular sized crusts or one large one. If you only need to use one crust for this quiche, you can freeze the second one to use later. Just thaw, roll out, and it’s ready.
