Paleo Taco Seasoning

I love tacos. They are a staple in my house and something that I make regularly. When I first went paleo, I noticed that all of the taco seasonings I was using had refined sugar in them. Refined sugars are not paleo and in my opinion, not something I wanted in my seasoning. My paleo taco seasoning is clean, free of refined sugars, contains no gluten and has a smoky and mild spicy flavor.

Now, let’s talk tacos. I love that any type of protein can be used to make a great taco. Think shrimp, steak, fish, and of course chicken. This seasoning is great on any of them. I use 1-2 tablespoons of paleo taco seasoning per pound of protein. Of course you can adjust this to your liking.

Ingredients

  • Chili powder
  • Salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Cumin
  • Onion powder
  • Oregano

Directions

  • Place all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix until well combined.
  • Store in your pantry and use this seasoning on any meat or seafood. I like to double this recipe so I always have plenty on hand.

This seasoning can be used in so many other ways. I use it to season meat for taco bowls, in scrambled eggs to make breakfast tacos, added to ground chicken or beef to make a Mexican burger, and to make sheet pan fajitas, or a taco salad. Make a double batch and keep this on hand, you won’t be disappointed.

This is one seasoning I keep on hand at all times. A few times I have realized while I was starting dinner that I was out of my taco seasoning and there was no time to make any. So I used Chili Seasoning instead.
